A couple days ago this space took a potshot at the Ivy League. Now I’ll turn on a dime the praise the same outfit, for outstanding work by Adam Mastroianni, a postdoc at Columbia, and Daniel Gilbert, a psych professor at Harvard. Much scholarly research belabors the obvious. Their impressive and enterprising new paper sheds light on the human condition.
